Before reading individual reviews, I wanted the aggregate numbers. Framer holds 4.8/5 on Product Hunt across 260 reviews, 4.5/5 on G2 and 8.8/10 on TrustRadius. These stats give some context on who actually uses it:

Designers praise the canvas, marketers praise shipping without engineers
Reading through the reviews, I noticed they cluster by role. Designers write about the Figma-like canvas, founders about launch speed, agencies and website development companies about client handoff, and marketers about not depending on engineers. One representative quote from each group, with the Framer feature they mention:

A common concern with website builders is that your work is trapped. Framer has an unusual answer: the React Export plugin turns Framer components into plain React code usable in Next.js, Vite or any React app, which you can then extend with tools like Claude Code. The most useful reviews I found are the ones with numbers attached. These results come from published customer stories of teams running their whole site on Framer. I linked each original story for verification:
The complaints: add-on pricing, a learning curve, and slower support on free plans
Everything above is the positive half. To keep this honest: not everyone likes Framer. Reading through the one-star and two-star reviews, most come from hobby users on the cheapest plans who needed a simple one-page site. Professional teams rate it 4.5 to 4.8 across every platform. The recurring complaints, with the context I found:
The elephant in the room: Trustpilot shows 1.8/5 from about 100 reviews. I read them: they are almost entirely billing complaints from free and hobby-tier users, many reacting to the 2025 pricing overhaul, and Trustpilot is where people go specifically to complain. I still think you should know it exists before you try Framer, and judge whether those complaints apply to your use case.
- Pricing adds up on small plans. add-ons like extra locales and editor seats surprise users on the Basic tier. Teams report the opposite: Mutiny saves $6k a month and Mollie redeployed 3 full-time developers. The complaints concentrate on small personal sites.
- A real learning curve. Framer is a design tool, not a template-filler. Reviewers coming from Figma say they were comfortable in hours. Reviewers who never used a design canvas struggle at first and lean on the Academy videos and templates.
- CMS limits on cheaper tiers. content-heavy sites need the Pro plan. The technical ceiling itself is high, up to 100K items per collection.
- Support can be slow on free plans. several reviewers report AI-first support and roughly 24h email replies unless they are on a higher tier.
The vendor lock-in complaint I covered earlier: it is mostly solved by exporting to React. If any of the other points are dealbreakers for you, Webflow (more backend flexibility) or WordPress (more plugins) remain reasonable alternatives; I wrote full Framer vs Webflow and Framer vs Wix comparisons if that is your actual question. Pricing: free to start, $30/mo for Pro, and startups get a year free
Framer bills per site and yearly billing saves about 20%. The fairest way I found to judge the price is against the stack it replaces: builder, hosting, CMS, analytics and an A/B testing tool. The live tiers are on the pricing page; this was the state when I wrote this:

Framer secrets: a discount code and other little-known facts
Things I mention to friends that rarely show up in other reviews. Some of these save real money:
- 01There is a working discount code for Pro yearly. Sign up through a partner link first, then enter PARTNER25PROYEARLY in the discount field at checkout. - 03AI agents can edit your Framer site directly. The MCP plugin connects Claude Code, Cursor and other AI agents to a Framer project over MCP: they can edit pages, components, CMS content and code files while you watch on the canvas. Also mine.

For design-led teams, I think yes. Across Product Hunt (4.8/5) and G2 (4.5/5), reviewers consistently praise how fast they can design, publish and iterate. Teams like Mollie cut campaign builds from 5 hours to 25 minutes, and Mutiny saves $6k/month on agency support. If you only need the cheapest possible one-page site and don’t care about design quality, a simpler tool may fit better.
Is Framer good for SEO?
Yes. Framer sites are pre-rendered with clean HTML, automatic sitemaps, canonical tags, image optimization, and llms.txt for AI search. Its reference Core Web Vitals are LCP 1.1s, INP 95ms, CLS 0.01, all in the “good” range Google rewards.
Is Framer better than Webflow?

My verdict after reading 402+ Framer reviews
If you care about how your site looks and you ship marketing pages regularly, the 4.8/5 rating checks out: the canvas, hosting and CMS replace a whole stack, and the people using it daily are the happiest reviewers. If you need a cheap one-page site and design is not a priority, a simpler tool will serve you better and you will avoid the add-on pricing complaints.
The free plan needs no credit card, so the cheapest way to form an opinion is to build a page yourself and see if the workflow clicks for you.
