Aggregate scores first, because they are the least gameable signal. Framer holds 4.8/5 on Product Hunt and 4.5/5 on G2. On G2, Webflow sits at 4.4/5 (G2, ~1,000 reviews). Close scores, different review content: Webflow reviews praise control and complain about the learning curve.

To keep this honest: if your site is basically a structured database, Webflow is the stronger tool. Its CMS supports reference fields, granular collection structures and REST content APIs, plus code components and app hosting for developer teams. Framer's CMS ceiling is higher on raw items (100,000 per collection versus Webflow's 20,000 on Premium), but Webflow's field logic and integration surface go deeper than what Framer's CMS offers today.
Webflow also suits teams that want to own every div: its output maps closely to hand-written HTML/CSS, and the GSAP interactions editor rewards people who think in timelines. The tradeoff is the learning curve its own G2 reviewers keep mentioning. If your team already ships in Webflow and the CMS logic is load-bearing, I would not migrate just for a prettier canvas; I would test Framer on the next new marketing project instead.

My verdict: pick by the job, not by the hype
Pick Webflow when the project depends on complex CMS logic, reference-heavy content models or backend integrations, and someone on the team is willing to climb the learning curve. Pick Framer for marketing sites, launches and portfolios where design quality, animation and shipping speed decide the outcome; it is the one reviewers consistently describe as fastest from idea to live page.
Lock-in tilted my own weighting more than pricing did. Webflow exports static HTML/CSS without CMS content. Framer's React Export plugin (full disclosure: I built it) outputs components you can keep developing in Next.js or any React app. Both have free plans, so the cheapest way to decide is to build the same one-pager in each and see which workflow clicks.
